Document TemplatesThroughout the procurement and outsourcing lifecycle, there are a number
of document deliverables or outputs, many of which are identified within
the 8 Step Routemap. Two of the key deliverables are the Request for Information (RFI) and
Request for Proposal (RFP) documents. RFI Request for Information
The RFI questionnaire includes inquiries as to the potential supplier's
ability to undertake the work, list of references and other customers.
The RFI determines the operational capability, financial viability,
and level of experience of potential suppliers in the market; for instance
a supplier of trading software must be able to provide proof they are
approved by the relevant exchange/s.

An RFP is designed to provide prospective suppliers with a structured
statement of the organisation's requirements together with all of the
information needed for the supplier to prepare the best possible response.
A RFP can be expected to improve the potential suppliers' understanding
of the requirements and thereby enable them to prepare solutions that
properly address the stated needs and that are readily comparable with
each other. The RFP comprises the SOR along with other associated information
including disclosures about the current technical and business environments,
prospective legal arrangements with the supplier, and project time scales.
