Continuing Professional DevelopmentThe Law Society CPD training courses are accredited exclusively by providers authorised by the Law Society and the FOA has now been authorised as an external provider, offering training through its complimentary Forums, training sessions and the Compliance in Derivatives Course. Where these sessions are relevant to the work of a solicitor, CPD credits may be obtained. We would therefore encourage persons attending relevant FOA Courses/Forums to claim CPD credits. CPD credits are awarded for each hour spent at a training session that is relevant to the work of a solicitor. Sessions lasting between 30 mins and an hour will count for a maximum of 75% of the overall requirement. If you would like to claim CPD credits through attendance at one of our training sessions as well as any supporting material used (agendas, slides etc.) please contact Sarah Woolcock for appropriate reference. Further information can be found on the Law Society's website at www.lawsociety.org.uk The Bar Council The FOA has also recently been recognised as an external course provider for the Bar's Continuing Professional Development programme. If one of our Forums/training sessions is considered to be relevant to the work of a Barrister then we will seek accreditation of this session. Where we can we will endeavour to advertise accredited courses in our Forums web page section or on the Agenda for that particular event and inform our members how many CPD credits the session constitutes. If you would like to claim CPD credits through attendance at one of our training sessions as well as any supporting material used (agendas, slides etc.) please contact Sarah Woolcock .
