Capital Requirements Directive (CRD).
The FOA, in conjunction with KPMG, has prepared a series of breakfast sessions lasting approximately 2 hours and addressing aspects of the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD).
Some of the course material will be tailored to the firms attending, with attendees being invited to submit questions and areas of concern in advance of each session in order to ensure that the sessions address the current concerns of members.

General CRD Awareness - 27th November
Content:
Regulatory objectives interpreted for each market community, evolution of CRD, P I, PII & PIII. Objectives and behaviours expected. Implementation timetable & relationship to other regulations
Objectives:
Overall understanding of CRD, as a programme of regulation and how & when it is likely to affect each market community.
This course offers a high level view of the CRD and its wider implications for firms. The session provides a useful introduction to the subject for senior staff who require an overview and have not yet been directly involved with the CRD.
De-mystifying Pillar II - 6th December
Content:
What's new in Pillar II, its relationship to Pillar I. Summary of new risks being considered and new processes (at FSA & in the firm).
Objectives:
Understand Pillar II at a high level, sufficient to scope an effective response programme to Pillar II.
This session provides a summary of Pillar II and offers a more detailed examination of the different risks which firms may face and the potential capital impact of those risks.
Identifying Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) approaches -

Regulator's expectations and requirements for a firm's ICAAP. Design principles & project management approaches
Objectives:
Understand ICAAP from a regulator's perspective and what a response programme might entail for a firm; overview of the options and choices to be made.
