New Database

The FOA now has a more advanced database in operation which can hold much more detailed data relating to members to ensure that we continue to provide an excellent service. An example of this is attendance at fora meetings and training courses which may qualify as continuation training over the coming months.

To ensure that your record is kept up to date please email any changes to the following to Julie Bullivant:-

Your job title
Your email address
Your direct telephone number

FOA Fora

As members will know, the FOA has hosted a regular series of forum meetings for compliance officers, clearing and settlement managers and finance officers and that will continue through 2001 largely unchanged except that:

- the FOA, in view of the increasing emphasis on continuation training by the FSA, will be looking to "badge" forum meetings as accountable towards continuation training requirements;
- the focus through 2001 will be mainly on implementation issues in the run up to N2 (possibly now late summer/early autumn - although formally there has been no change);
- all members' staff on the FOA database will be circulated with the agenda of every forum (so if there are individuals within firms who would like to take advantage of attending the forum meetings, please ensure that they are included on its database by contacting Julie Bullivant).

FOA fora will continue to be held on a complimentary basis and to be overseen by the relevant FOA Committees. However, in order to avoid incurring unnecessary costs, it is very important that registrants advise the FOA if they are unable to attend AND those wishing to to come to a forum meeting register their intended attendance IN ADVANCE.

We have also taken the opportunity to rename the fora as follows:-
